Meticulous and open to working evenings? We've got the perfect job! What you'll be doing: setting up and operating CNC machines for drilling, grinding, and milling. You'll also translate instructions into computer commands to keep machines running smoothly. Think you have what it takes to be our next amazing CNC Machinist?

Duties and responsibilities

Set up and perform initial machine adjustments required for the production of a specific part;
Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as turning, milling, drilling, grinding, etc.;
Interpret task specifications and desired outcomes by reading technical drawings;
Translate blueprint readings into computer commands so machines can execute the correct functions;
Prepare and load raw materials and parts into machines;
Mentor and guide CNC operators in the performance of their duties;
Inspect and measure finished products and compare them to requirements to ensure the process was carried out correctly;
Perform any other related tasks.

Every Friday off: compressed schedule of 4 x 10-hour shifts (4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., Monday to Thursday)
Evening premium of $2.50/hour
Up to 5 weeks of vacation per year, including 3 weeks starting upon hiring

Demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness
Be meticulous
Be able operate CNC machines and tools as well as precision measurement tools
Be able to read and interpret documents and mechanical drawings
Have a good mechanical aptitude and math skills
Be extremely detail- and results-oriented

Qualifications

Diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in machining techniques
0 to 3 years of experience
Familiarity with machine codes (G-code)
CNC experience (asset)
