The energy of the future

The energy of the future

  • Reduces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions & fossil fuel needs.
  • Transforms waste (manure and wastewater) into clean & 100% renewable energy.
  • More reliable than solar or wind energy.
  • Source of additional income.
The biogas production process

The biogas production process

On-farm biogas production typically requires the collection, homogenization, and pre-conditioning of manure, at which point it is pumped into the anaerobic digester vessel. The anaerobic microbes break down the organic matter in the manure and produce methane as a by-product. This raw gas from the vessel is called biogas, which then is scrubbed and purified to become RNG (renewable natural gas).

3 types of digesters

There are different types of digesters. Climate is an important factor to consider in choosing the ideal version to minimize costs and maximize production.

Complete mix vessel

Insulated exterior domes with agitator, ideal for temperate climates.

Plug flow

Plug flow

Typically built partly in-ground and insulated, this agitator-less digester is designed for use in temperate climates.

Covered lagoon

Digestion occurs via the sun’s heat on the black membrane. A popular and economical choice for warmer climates.
