Project overview
In 2012, Four J Farms implemented an innovative system to manage manure and recycle rinse water on its farm.
At Four J Farms, recycled manure and bedding are flushed from the alleys using a flushing system. A system of pumps, agitator and separator then processes the material to extract as much liquid as possible, which is then sent to a digester located 1.6 km (1 mile) from the farm. After digestion, the material is returned to the facilities for additional pumping. That is what we call a closed-circuit system.
Our Valmetal Tulare division has a close relationship with the farm and is fortunate to collaborate with them on several research and development projects.
