- Ensure the stability, availability, and security of the Group Valmetal IT infrastructure across Canada and the United States.
- Oversee IT infrastructures including servers, networks, storage, telephony, remote access, inter-site connectivity, cybersecurity, and related systems.
- Manage the lifecycle of technology assets: inventory, renewal, standardization, sustainability, and platform optimization.
- Develop and manage IT budgets (CAPEX/OPEX), including forecasting, investment planning, and cost optimization.
- Define, strengthen, and maintain cybersecurity practices: policies, audits, access management, MFA, detection tools, incident response, and risk management.
- Monitor technology trends and recommend relevant operational technologies.
- Lead the IT/IS team (technicians, system/network administrators, IS business analysts, BI analysts, and analyst-programmers): coaching, performance management, and skills development.
- Oversee IT/IS service request management (Helpdesk), ensure effective user support, and continuously improve user experience.
- Ensure that the IT/IS needs of plants, offices, and business units are understood, anticipated, and addressed through robust and reliable services.
- Prioritize IT/IS interventions based on criticality, business value, and operational impact.
- Strengthen the IT/IS team as a center of operational expertise and a driver of service excellence for users.
- Implement internal policies, documentation, operational processes, and IT/IS knowledge management practices.
- Deploy and maintain IT continuity (DRP) and disaster recovery plans.
- Lead the ongoing operation of information systems and digital tools supporting internal operations (ERP, CRM, BI tools, document management systems, etc.).
- Contribute to the execution of the Group Valmetal IT/IS strategy.
- Manage the application lifecycle: updates, development, integration, performance, and stability.
- Collaborate with IT/IS team members assigned to projects prioritized by the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Ensure seamless system integration, interoperability, connectivity, and technological compliance.
- Implement operational dashboards to monitor system performance, efficiency, and incidents.
- Evaluate and deploy software solutions aligned with operational needs and corporate technology guidelines.
